All,

I've been using my Lee case trimmer (the base goes in a drill) to trim .223 brass. Some of the brass has no 'wobble', which leads me to believe it's pretty straight. However, some of the brass has a considerable 'wobble' when turned in the drill. I'd say a few pieces have at least .05" run-out. Is this bad and if so is there anything I can do to straighten the case?

Thanks,

Wayne

That will certainly affect accuracy, I use an RCBS case master concentricity gaging tool and a Forster outside neck turner, but I am into groundhog and coyote hunting so I try to wring out as much accuracy as I can.

What causes the run-out in the first place?

Could be caused somewhat by the resizing die but more likely just from the normal case stretch.

I really only worry about the case neck, if the case body is that far out I simply discard it.
