I found it interesting that the fabled Les Baer had more than on breakage getting to 10,000 rounds.

Today I came back to this post and read the link again. I wonder if all 1911s are prone to breakage ? Are the glocks and other more modern plastic pistols more dependable by design? There are always reports on the 30,000 without failure round glock 17 . Then there is the kabooms but I wonder if lead reloads are the problem?
