All,

I've been reloading with Hodgdon Titewad on my MEC Sizemaster. I get quite a bit of powder flakes 'leaking' from the charge bar area when reloading. I have a brass washer that does help with the leaking, but it doesn't stop it by any means. When I reload with Clays and Universal Clays I don't have this problem.

Thanks,

Wayne

Most tightwads only leak after they get really old,,,then it's more of an after dribble grin

Update:

Thinking that the brass washer/scraper would be better than the rubber grommet, I hadn't even tried the grommet. I did today and it works much better with the fine powder than the brass washer.

Wayne,
If you get a MEC powder baffle, it eliminates the brass washer and rubber grommet. I have them on all my MEC's and it really works even with Winchester 296.

Moe,

I believe the MEC powder baffle has a spring loaded plastic seal that always pushes on the charge bar? I did have mine installed, but still had problems with the Titewad leaking. When I used the powder baffle with the rubber grommet, most of the leaking stopped.
