BarryinIN
In 9mm and, because you can't have an American Pistol without it, .45ACP. http://beta.ruger.com/products/rugerAmericanPistol/models.html
wwillson
It seems to me that it's getting a bit difficult to differentiate some of Ruger's pistol lines for the others. The Ruger American pistol seems to be a version of the SR9E with a better trigger and more versatile palm swell/grip?
BarryinIN
Yeah, it seems to me they have about 37 lines of 9mms now. From what I've seen so far, they could have dropped a couple with the introduction of this one. Trigger is supposed to be very nice. Retail is something like $579, but I think real world price is meant to be a Glock-competitive $400 or so.
BarryinIN
Just FYI. I'm hearing real world prices in the area are $429 (gun shops) to $439 (big box outdoor stores). New owners seemed very pleased...but haven't fired a shot yet. Edited January 1, 2016 by BarryinIN
wwillson
I got to hold a Ruger American Pistol in 9mm a few days ago, but didn't get to shoot it. I was impressed with the ergonomics, design, ruggedness, and quality. The trigger was also so good that it's hard to believe this is a Ruger design. Maybe I'll have to buy one?!
